Lyon is located at the confluence of the Rhône and the Saône. It is the third most populous city in France and the second most populous in France after Paris.

Lyon is a very gay friendly city.

The main gay venues are on the slopes of the Croix-Rousse, in the area between the Croix-Paquet garden and the Place des Cordeliers to the south. It is here, around the Place des Terreaux, that most of Lyon’s good gay places are concentrated.
