Bordeaux is the prefecture of the Gironde department and of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, located on the left bank of the Garonne River. Its inhabitants are called the Bordelais and it is the seventh largest urban area in France.
The city of Bordeaux does not have a dedicated gay district, but there are many gay bars and gay friendly discos.
